Indian restaurant's come in all shapes and sizes and Lal Akash is assuredly a top end Indian restaurant with a diverse, quality menu and an excellent wine list. Open since March 2003, Lal Akash is a welcome addition to the region's dining options and for connoisseurs of the delights of Indian cuisine; this is a visit well worth making.

Lal Akash is a large, sophisticated modern restaurant, with a subtle pastel interior taking a refreshing modern take on the traditional conception of Indian restaurant decor. We also have a spacious upstairs function room which is ideal for parties and events and are developing a highly popular outside catering service.

The food at Lal Akash traverses the traditional and the modern with quality versions of all the traditional favorite dishes. Balti classics, tasty Indian entrees,
Tikka specialties and some trademark specialties.

These include Jhinga Delight - marinated King Prawns cooked over Charcoal and prepared in the Lal Akash secret sauce or Tandoori Lal-e-mas, succulent grilled
salmon steaks in a sumptuous sauce. The Lal Akash salad is also an enticing option, a bumper combination of peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, pineapple, sultanas, almonds, chickpeas and much more tossed with a choice of Chicken, Prawn or Lamb Tikka. The Lal Akash wine list boasts some quality champagnes and a connoisseur's range of wines from a highly palatable house wine up to top of the range options.

Lal Akash also has a takeaway or delivery service although for a great introduction to the Lal Akash experience, you can try their lunchtime buffet (Thurs - Sun) which is very reasonable at £7.95 a head.
